UE is a different kind of mission experience. It is the vision of UE that every participant would experience a fresh encounter with the power and presence of Jesus. UE is a six day immersion in prayer and in outreach to the inner city, beginning and ending each day in prayer. We believe before God can work through us in the mission field, He has to work in us. The ultimate Urban Encounter is with Jesus in the city. Outreaches include Peanut Butter and Jelly Kids Club, feeding the hungry, street evangelism and community service projects.
When to come and go:
Teams arrive Monday’s at 5 and stay with us through the following Sunday morning service. In order to get the most out of your week, we ask groups to stay for the whole time.  We believe becoming immersed in the culture of prayer and the rhythm of the inner city is essential and prepares our hearts and minds to be used to the fullest.
Cost and Payment:
The cost for Urban Encounter is $200 per student and $150 per sponsor/leader.  This cost covers housing, UE Staffing, UE T-shirt and supplies used for ministry during your week.  A Deposit of $50 -Per Person is due by June 1st.  This deposit is non-refundable but transferrable to another person.  All remaining balances are due upon arrival in check or money order made out to Mission 820. Deposits and or teams fees can be paid online at this link: Pay Deposits Here  Just detail the specifics in the memo.
Where do we sleep?
All groups stay at our church, Crossroads Tabernacle. CT is equipped with rooms, showers and a small kitchen facility.  Teams bring air mattresses or cots and their own bedding.  They are then split up by gender in two different buildings on our campus with your adult sponsors acting as chaperones.
What do we eat
Each group is responsible for their own meals but have total access to our kitchen along with stove, deep freezer and refrigerator.  Our pots and pans along with utensils are limited though, so we ask teams to bring that along as well. Most groups purchase their food upon arrival (Sam’s Club and Wal-Mart are 5 minutes away).  Taking 15 or 20 excited teenagers to a grocery warehouse can make a great start to a really fun week.  Some groups bring someone along to cook for the week but others get creative in how they do it.
A typical menu is a light breakfast: cereal, fruit, bagels or toast and yogurt. Sack lunches since we’re off campus most days.  And Spaghetti, chili or frozen casserole style entree’s work great for dinners.
Who can come?
UE is a youth focused mission experience for students entering middle school through graduating seniors in high school.  We’ve had leaders bring their children before and we don’t have a problem with that, as long as they can handle their kids and the team responsibilities as well.  There also needs to be some adult sponsors, preferably leaders who are a part of your youth ministry and or love being with your teens.  We suggest a minimum ration of 1:7.  Adult leaders are essential to the flow of the week and the spiritual growth of the students
Final Details:
Upon filling out the Registration Form in the button link below and acceptance of a particular week, we request a $100 non refundable deposit to hold your spot.  We sometimes double teams up but are limited by space, so reserving a week early on is essential.  We ask for a list of team members and their ages along with their $50 deposits by June 1st.  We pray over every single person coming, so this list is essential! These dates give us time to order t-shirts, supplies and get our team ready to receive you.
